Neo Beat chicks present: QUEER VINYL NIGHT Vol. II

After a packed first edition, we are excited to announce our second queer vinyl night coming on March 14th!
We have heard your calls for a proper dance floor, so with @cafe_wendel being our next location, there will be more than enough space to move and mingle.
This time, the sound will reflect Wendel’s red and black atmosphere: Italo turns into body music, cosmic turns into acid. In short, Vol. II will be darker and gloomier than our first get together.

Other things will stay the same: great drinks, strictly vinyl and only dykes behind the decks.

Donation based, pay as you can.

We won’t tolerate any kind of phobias & discrimination.

🖼️ 💿 For this edition, our visual pays tribute to 101 – Rock to the Beat, a defining track in the evolution of New Beat. Released in 1988, this record became an anthem of Belgium’s underground scene, where slowed-down electronic beats, hypnotic synths, and heavy basslines created a dark yet infectious groove.

Originally produced by Joey Beltram under the alias 101, the track was later reworked by Frank De Wulf, one of Belgium’s key figures in shaping the New Beat sound. With its pulsating rhythm and robotic vocal stabs, Rock to the Beat became a staple in legendary clubs like Boccaccio, fueling the rise of a genre that bridged the gap between EBM, early techno, and rave culture.
