SXCL (pronounced “sexcil”) is a Vinyl & Electronic DJ and producer whose sound is influenced by artists like Jane Fitz and Craig Richards, while embracing a style reminiscent of Danilo Plessow’s fearless genre-hopping approach and influences from 90s and 00s electronic music, crafting a sonic experience that resonates with dancers and dreamers alike. 

With a background in sound engineering and over a decade of experience in production, as well as proficiency in instruments like synths, guitar, and bass, their craft is deeply informed by technical precision and an intuitive ear for sonic textures.

Melancholic yet euphoric, cerebral yet visceral, experimental yet groovy, SXCL’s sets are a masterclass in contrast — Their performances balance mood-driven selections with technically intricate mixing, moving between breakbeats, house, hypnotic techno, and experimental soundscapes, as well as delving into the depths of trippy, textured electronica, making every performance a journey shaped by emotion and spontaneity.

With a relentless curiosity for new sounds by digging and exchanging tracks between new people they meet, SXCL sees music as an act of “inspiration, creation, and sharing,” echoing the philosophy of Agnès Varda. 

While SXCL has graced venues like Säule (Berghain), Oxi, and Zur Klappe, as well as festivals and collectives like Dump, Buttons, Insektrave, and Wet Vienna, their vision extends beyond the DJ booth. Balancing a career in production, live sound recording, and artistic direction, they seek to evolve both musically and professionally.
